SHARP Programs
What programs do SHARP Peer Eds offer?
SHARP programs are primarily presented in discussion or activity based workshop format. We work hard to ensure that program participants feel safe to engage and challenged to push their thinking and translate it to action. We offer programs for all male groups, all female groups, and coed groups. Program titles include:- Close to Home: Creating a safer social environment at Duke
- "Hooking-up" at Duke: How to get what you want but not more than you asked for
- A Guy Thing: What do men at Duke really think about relating to women?
- Making the Most of Your Sex Life: Communication 101
- Top Ten Tips for A Good Relationship
- Men Acting for Change: Responding to rape, assault, prejudice, and exploitation
- White Ribbons in Action (a program for men)
- Sexual Positions: A frank discussion on date and acquaintance rape
- From Barbie to GI Joe: How gender affects your love life
- How to Help a Friend
How do I schedule a SHARP program?
Please allow two weeks for planning and call 919-684-3897 to speak with the Assistant Coordinator, Sexual Assault Support Services or email at crymel@duke.edu. We'll take care of content, handouts, facilitators, materials, and evaluations. All you'll have to do is schedule a space and advertise effectively to get people there. We do require a minimum of 10 participants to ensure a high impact program that feels safe and comfortable for all involved.SHARP Home
